ASSEMBLER - MONTREAL/VANCOUVER

Immediately seeking full-time Assemblers (day shift, regular hours) to work as part of our clients team - a leading manufacturer in drive-technology. Job Overview: 

To assemble units described on work orders, ensuring proper quality and completeness within deadlines requested. The average unit consists of the assembly of 200 parts. This position reports to the Plant Manager but receives daily supervision and direction from the Plant Supervisor. Key tasks include: assembling units, matching work order and parts, area maintenance, cleaning gear housing, participating in cross-training. 

Qualifications: 

- High school education with an emphasis on industrial trades

- 1-2 years experience in assembly or a warehouse role

- Strong interpersonal and concentration skills

- Able to meet positions physical demand; strength, endurance and stamina to repair units (the average weight of a unit is 100lbs)

Job Overview:

Your role will be to provide Technical and Sales Support to staff of all levels within the organization, as well as to clients. This will involve the selection, quotation, and calculation of power transmission components and related structural interfaces, including working with all company Industrial Gear products and motors to enable their integration into third party equipment and machinery. You will have good interpersonal skills and be able to build and maintain positive relationships with existing and new clients. You will be driven by managing a project through every stage from conception to final assembly and will be responsible for fulfilling the requirement of each project. You will have the ability to organize your time and work efficiently and be a self-motivated individual with the drive to create superb solutions each and every time. You will be required to assist Manager in areas of personnel training periodically.


Key tasks include: 

- Perform selection and sizing of power transmission system based on customer specification. The power transmission system includes: reducers, motors, couplings, baseplate, etc.

- Provide calculations by using current company engineering software and tools - Generate quotations and project proposals based on established sales policies

- Manage order processing activities and procedures. Effectively transfer technical order to international manufacturing plants through SAP/CRM and take ownership of the project/order

- Perform project planning and management

- Interact with company's international manufacturing plants on sales activities and technical issues

- Interact with company's international manufacturing plants as well as component suppliers on project handling and order processing

- Provide technical and sales support to staff at all level within organization as well as to the clients 

- Manage and support the key account

- Coordinate with Service department on customer complaints

Qualifications: 

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Excellent problem solving and time management skills

- Good knowledge of physics (motion and velocity) and mathematics

- Able to read and understand blueprints, technical specification, BOM, and other technical document

- Self-motivated, highly organized and able to perform with minimal supervision - Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with continuous interruptions

- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

- Knowledge of electrical motors & instrumentation as asset

- Experience and knowledge in SAP/CRM an asset

- Experience in power transmission industry an advantage

- 3+ years experience

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification, but not an essential requirement in the case of an otherwise exceptional candidate with industry experience

The incumbent is responsible for scheduling the production and dealing with people management issues. Resolves day-to-day production issues, prioritize production tasks and liaises with Engineering, Inventory, Inside Sales, and other departments. Allocates resources to tasks as required, and promotes personal initiative, teamwork, and compliance with company policies and procedures, and health and safety, and environmental standards. The incumbent is responsible with scheduling overtime, time off, and vacation days, maintaining discipline and recommending disciplinary action as required. The position reports to Plant Manager.

Qualifications:
